Blessing In a Backpack

We're the Pinellas chapter of Blessings in a Backpack, dedicated to serving children and schools in Pinellas County. Blessings in a Backpack mobilizes communities, individuals and resources across America to provide food on the weekends for elementary school children who might otherwise go hungry.

These amazing students from Midtown Academy have been packing and delivering food-filled backpacks to classrooms every week.
It's volunteers like these that make Blessings in a Backpack Pinellas what it is. We couldn't be prouder of these young folks for helping and definitely couldn't do this without them. Thank you!

Incredibly thankful by Crius Energy's recent food drive. Food will be disseminated at a local summer camp to help feed hungry kids over their weekend. Thank you so very much for all your help and generosity! We couldn't do this without you!
The Pinellas County chapter was started in 2013. Blessings in a Backpack is a 501 C (3) non-profit organization, feeding over 83,000 children in 900 schools in 46 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.
There are 20+ million children in the U.S. at risk of hunger. Good nutrition can result in a stronger immune system, less hospitalization, higher IQ, improved attention span and higher academic achievement.
Our program is delivered through dedicated, passionate volunteers who secure food and fill and distribute backpacks during the school year. Your time, energy and enthusiasm can make a difference in a child’s life.
